He's frowning when he locates Boa, probably unsurprising considering... everything. It's not like he expected a pleasant answer, and there are worse things, probably, but.

No. He's not pleased at all with the hunters' plans for him.]

[ Boa gives him a questioning look. It's pretty early for any kinds of answers... ]

[ Oh wait, they should probably start writing soon. ]

[He looks over to Boa and... yeeeeeh, he's not catching much anymore. He'll go ahead and hand over the notebook and pencil.]

I spoke with Red. She's familiar with the term.

Essentially, it's a protocol for the worst case scenario in which someone else is needed to fulfill her duties.

[ Boa just stares at Mitsuru for a moment, then goes to writing. ]

They want to make you counselor.

[ That feels more redundant when written down than it would be said out loud. But really, he's speechless, this is all he got. ]

Not precisely. Or at least... Red doesn't think so.

[He crosses his arms, though he still holds onto his staff as ever.]

According to her, because of my age they would likely only need my services until they could find another Facilitator. However, that would mean I would need to keep those who were resurrected contained.

[And the hunters decided that his powers, of all of them, were the most suited to the role...]

[ Boa can't even say he disagrees with the hunters here. Mitsuru would be fantastic at the job, but that's just... besides the point. The point being that he shouldn't be doing it. ]

The zombies? Don't they stay here voluntarily?

More or less. Though those hunters...

[He chews his lip, agitated.]

They're the ones behind our powers being suppressed, and their priority seems to be making sure we can't spread into their world. I'm sure the dead aren't the only ones they'd want me to contain.

[And if they can choose whether or not he has the power to do so - he really would be at their mercy, sickening as the thought is.]

[ .... quarantine... that's the word that seems to describe this aptly and having seen the stone from Soma's brain, Boa isn't sure if it's a wrong term to use. ]

The cats from the lake seem to dislike the 'stone god', too. Just what on earth we being made into agents of?

[ Boa nods. ]

Sounds good. At this point knowing what the 'stone god' wants, other than turn us into zombies, probably helps us deal with the others.

If it's really an infection, propagating isn't out of the question, either...

[ Boa holds that message up for Mitsuru to see and shudders. The idea is absolutely revolting to him and he'd have more choice words about it if writing wasn't effort. ]

[Yeah, Mitsuru's really not looking forward to that as a potential outcome.]

The hunters have been here for a long, long time... I'm not sure how much they comprehend about the actual situation, but clearly they're used to guarding against it.

Likely with good reason.

[That last part is extremely grudgingly said, because make no mistake, he still abhors them. But.]

[ Boa thinks this through and he hates what he's thinking. ]

Maybe that is the experiment we're in: they want one group to be strong enough to break out of here and spread the infection.

It's possible... Though if the hunter and lab factions are unconnected, I wonder what the original purpose of bringing people here from other worlds might have been. Did they foresee the hunters taking up guard against us, or...?

[ Boa just shrugs at that, because this is a sentiment he can easily portray without writing. ]

We need to learn more about the lab, now that the hunter objective seems fairly clear.

The labs are the thing Red refuses to talk about at all, unfortunately.

[He's definitely given that a shot by now.}
